Recuperative care (also known as medical respite) is short-term residential care for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity who are recovering from an acute illness or injury. It provides a clean, safe, and supportive environment with 24/7 non-acute clinical oversight, wound care, meals, and intensive housing case management to prevent hospital readmission.
